The Gateway PGA Foundation strives to grow the game of golf while recognizing those who have contributed to its rich history. The path of the Foundation will be made visible by a commitment to engaging our youth through financial and emotional support. Particular emphasis will be placed on those who have fewer advantages in our communities. To achieve its goals, the Foundation will use its expertise in the game of golf and seek additional support from the sporting community as well as fellow sports associations. The Gateway PGA Foundation will leave a mark in our neighborhoods and a lasting imprint on all those who are touched.
The Gateway PGA Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization and was created in 2007 by the Gateway PGA, one of the forty-one geographical areas that comprise the Professional Golfers Association of America. The goals of the Gateway PGA Foundation are to reach out and connect with the underprivileged youth in our communities by introducing the game of golf.
The Gateway PGA has a number of in school and after school programs designed not only teach golf, but to give our professionals a chance to mentor the youth in our schools. The Gateway PGA Foundation utilizes the PGA Professionals of the Gateway Section to institute an educational, fun and safe environment for children to learn the basics of golf. The youth of our programs will be taught the fundamentals of golf while being instilled with the life skills that this great game can provide. The Gateway PGA also has an established scholarship program, and supports students going on to college that have demonstrated excellence in both the classroom and on and off the golf course.
